Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
We want Rower Rhythm to be usable by as many rowers as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology. This page says plainly what the app does, what we have not yet verified, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
We have not completed a formal conformance assessment against WCAG or EN 301 549, so we make no conformance claim.
What the app does
- VoiceOver. Controls carry spoken labels, and the rows on the summary read out a value such as a duration in minutes and seconds. The ratio and rate charts on the iPhone expose an audio-graph description.
- Larger text. Text follows the text size you set in iOS and watchOS, except on the Trends charts, where the text size is capped.
- Reduce Motion. On the Watch live screen, the small animations of the marker and of the caption are switched off when Reduce Motion is on.
- Not by sight alone. On the Watch, the live screen states in words whether your recovery is short, on target or long, and the optional tap cue (RowerRhythm Pro) is a tap on your wrist, not a visual signal.
Known limits
- The sentences VoiceOver speaks for the summary and the Start sheet are in English only, whatever the language of the app.
- We have not yet tested the app on a Watch or an iPhone with VoiceOver, Voice Control, Switch Control or the largest text sizes, so some details may behave differently from what we describe.
- Rowing itself, with wet hands and a locked screen, limits how much you can operate the Watch during a row. The screen locks against water when a row starts; press and hold the Digital Crown to unlock it.
This website
The site is plain HTML and CSS, with no JavaScript. It has a skip link, a keyboard-reachable layout with visible focus, system fonts that follow your text size, light and dark colours that follow your system setting, and no animation when Reduce Motion is on.
Feedback and contact
Please report accessibility problems to rowerrhythm@xymex.app. It helps to tell us:
- what you were trying to do,
- which assistive technology you were using,
- what happened and what you expected,
- your Watch and iPhone models and their software versions.
We read every message and will update this page as we check and fix things.
